The Ballarat Gov Hub is a workplace for over one thousand employees in Ballarat, Victoria and is a finalist in the 2021 Colour Awards – Commercial & Multi Residential Exterior category.
An outer skin of solid zinc in a red pigment wraps the building, with the bronze tones sitting comfortably in the Ballarat landscape, where red brick structures are a feature.
A custom powder coat colour, Duratec Elements Brown Pearl Mannex, was developed with the architect in collaboration with Dulux Powder Coatings and Dulux Protective Coating for use on the windows. The colour was created to compliment and contrast the zinc outer and subtle Autumnal shade range of the building. The deep bronze colour references existing heritage masonry buildings on site and links with the new masonry, in a layering of old and new.
