Oran Park High School, a finalist in the 2020 Dulux Colour Awards, is a large purpose built public High School for the growing western Sydney suburb of Oran Park.
The buildings have an articulated upper façade that provides a dynamic and sculptural appearance. This has been emphasized with the extensive pallet of Dulux colours which are graduated along the façade within angled window reveals. The result is a playful source of movement and a nod to the areas racing past.
Dulux Duratec Intensity powdercoat colours were used on perforated sunscreen elements and other external metalwork, punctuating and complementing the dynamic network of colours. Colour has played an important part in the schools way-finding strategy, with yellow acting as a key identifier of points for movement and entry on the site, an important feature given the large scale of the school.
